General Information
The React Universe App is a free mobile tool provided by CK to help you get the most out of the ABC Conference. You can use it to create a badge, plan your agenda, connect with others via QR codes, and access the official Discord server (optional).
To use the App, you must be old enough to consent to data processing and enter into a contract in your country (usually 16+ in the EU) and agree to the Terms of Use.
You log in with a one-time magic link sent to your email. That email is tied to your badge and can’t be changed. You’re responsible for keeping it secure and using the App respectfully.
We only collect what you choose to share in your badge (minimum: name and email). Data is processed for the event and deleted after it ends. We don’t share your info unless you scan badges or join Discord. All data is stored securely (on Supabase/AWS).
The App is provided “as is,” and some features depend on your device and internet. We’re not liable for technical issues beyond our control. Our total liability is limited by law.
You can stop using the App or ask us to delete your data at any time. For help, reach out via email. If there’s a dispute, we encourage resolving it informally. Polish law applies, and consumers can use ombudsman or mediation tools (see uokik.gov.pl).

TERMS OF USE FOR REACT UNIVERSE APP
Published on August 4, 2025
I. About the App and Provider
1.1. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the mobile or web-based app provided to React Universe Conference participants (“App”). The App is not a social network or communication platform. It does not include private or group messaging features.
1.2. The App is provided free of charge and solely in connection with the event. The App is a companion tool designed to support your participation in the event. It enables you to:
– create a digital participant profile (badge),
– browse and customize the conference agenda,
– connect with other attendees,
– view event sponsors and partners,
– receive notifications about sessions and announcements,
– access the official conference Discord server.
1.3. The App is provided by CK with its registered office at address: ul. Prosta 36, 53-508 Wroclaw; registration: District Court for Wrocław-Fabryczna in Wroclaw, National Court Register number: 606530; tax ID number: 899-278-56-16; share capital: PLN 8,000.00; e-mail address conference@callstack.com, phone number: +4866801937; “Organizer”, “we”, or “us”).
1.4. The Organizer is responsible for operating and maintaining the App in connection with the event for which it has been made available
2. Eligibility and Acceptance of Terms
2.1. By accessing or using the App—including by submitting your email address to receive a login link—you agree to be bound by these Terms. You also confirm that you meet the minimum age required in your country both to consent to the processing of personal data and to enter into binding agreements without the need for parental or guardian approval. If you do not meet these requirements or do not accept these Terms, you may not use the App.
2.2. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and the Organizer. If you are using the App on behalf of a company or organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf.
2.3. If anything in these Terms is unclear, please contact us before continuing to use the App.
3. Technical Requirements
3.1. The App is a native mobile application developed using Expo SDK 53. To use it, you must have:
– a mobile device running iOS 15.1 or later or Android 7.0 (API level 24) or later,
– the latest version of the App downloaded from the official app store (App Store or Google Play),
– an active internet connection,
– access to your email inbox to receive login links,
– (optional) calendar software that supports .ics files for agenda export,
– (optional) a QR code scanner (if not integrated into your device or the App) to connect with other participants.
3.2. Certain features of the App (e.g., profile scanning, push notifications, or agenda reminders) may require specific device capabilities such as a working camera or permission to receive notifications. Some features may not work correctly if your device runs an unsupported operating system, lacks required hardware (e.g., a functioning camera or notification support), or has restricted settings (e.g., for notifications, calendar access, or camera use).
3.3. We recommend using a fully updated device running a recent version of iOS or Android for the best experience. If the App or certain features do not function as expected, please ensure your device and operating system meet these requirements and that the App is up to date.
4. Registration, Access, and User Responsibilities
4.1. To register, you enter your email address. A one-time login link (magic link) is sent to that email. Clicking the link grants access to the App. No password is required. Registration and login are handled solely via email-based links.
4.2. Your email address is permanently linked to your account (badge) and cannot be changed later. To use a different email address, you must create a new profile. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure. If someone gains access to your badge through your email, it is presumed to be authorized by you. If you suspect unauthorized use, you must notify us immediately.
4.3. You are solely responsible for the information you submit through the App, including your profile data and any contacts you scan. You must not upload or share any content that is unlawful, misleading, or infringes the rights of others, including privacy, publicity, or intellectual property rights.
4.4. The Organizer may restrict or terminate your access to the App—temporarily or permanently—if you violate these Terms, misuse the App, or act in a way that could harm other users, the Organizer, or the integrity of the event. Where applicable, we may report unlawful behavior to competent authorities.
5. App Features
5.1. The App allows you to create and manage a personalized user profile (“badge”), which may include your name, company, job title, social media links (LinkedIn, GitHub, X/Twitter, Discord), selected interests (tags), and your goals for attending the conference.
5.2. Each profile generates a unique QR code that can be scanned by others to share your profile. Scanning another attendee’s QR code adds them to your private contact list within the App.
5.3. Your scanned contacts are stored in a private “Network” section visible only to you. You may export your contact list as a PDF or CSV file. Once exported, any further use or processing of that data is your sole responsibility. Exported data may not be used for unsolicited mass outreach (e.g., marketing emails) without the explicit consent of the individuals concerned.
5.4. The App enables you to browse the full conference schedule, filter sessions by day, track, or location, and bookmark events into a personalized “My Agenda.” You can export your agenda or the full schedule to your device’s calendar in .ics format.
5.5. If you opt in, the App can send push notifications reminding you of upcoming sessions and important organizer announcements.
5.6. The App includes optional links to the official conference Discord server, which provides real-time communication outside of the App. Use of Discord is entirely voluntary and is governed solely by Discord Inc.’s own terms of service and privacy policies, which we encourage you to review before joining. The Organizer is not responsible for the availability, content, or conduct on Discord and disclaims all liability arising from your use of that platform.
6. Contact and Complaints
6.1. If you have questions about how the App works or how your personal data is handled—or if you wish to report a technical issue or submit a complaint—you can contact us at:
– conference@callstack.com; or
– address: ul. Prosta 36, 53-508 Wrocław.
6.2. When submitting a complaint, please include a brief description of the issue, the email address you used in the App, and any relevant screenshots or supporting information.
6.3. We will acknowledge receipt of your message within 5 business days and aim to respond within 14 days. If the matter requires more time to investigate, we will inform you accordingly.
7. Termination of Use
7.1. You may stop using the App at any time. You can also request deletion of your profile and all related data by contacting us at conference@callstack.com
7.2. Once the event has concluded, and after a reasonable retention period (as specified in Section 9), your data will be deleted from our systems.
7.3. The Organizer may suspend or disable access to the App without prior notice if required by law, due to security concerns, or in case of misuse or breach of these Terms.
8. Intellectual Property
8.1. The App, including its user interface, design, underlying code, and all content made available by the Organizer (such as agenda entries, speaker bios, and partner or sponsor materials), is protected by intellectual property laws and remains the exclusive property of the Organizer or its licensors.
8.2. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the App solely for purposes related to your participation in the event. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, publicly display, or use any part of the App or its content for commercial purposes without prior written consent, unless expressly permitted.
8.3. All trademarks, logos, and service marks displayed in the App—including those belonging to event sponsors and partners—are the property of their respective owners and may not be used without authorization.
8.4. The App may display a dedicated section for sponsors and partners, which includes their names, logos, descriptions, and links to external websites. The presence of such content does not constitute an endorsement, nor does it grant you any rights to use the sponsors’ or partners’ intellectual property outside the App.
9. Privacy and Personal Data
9.1. We are the controller (of your personal data) within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation; “GDPR”).
9.2. We process the following data: email address, profile information (name, company, job title, social links), selected interests and goals, and app activity logs (e.g., saved sessions, scanned contacts).
9.3. Your data is processed for the purpose of providing access to and functionality of the App as part of the event experience (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Optional data, such as profile additions beyond name and email, are provided voluntarily and processed based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
9.4. Your data is stored using Supabase infrastructure, which is hosted on isolated virtual servers on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The Organizer selects the AWS region to meet applicable data residency and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR). Supabase is SOC 2 compliant and provides tools supporting GDPR compliance; however, the Organizer is solely responsible for selecting and managing the appropriate region. Supabase will not transfer project data to another region without prior notice.
9.5. Your personal data is retained only for the duration of the event and is not stored beyond that period unless required for compliance or unless you request continued access. Most data will be removed once the App is uninstalled or the event concludes. You may request earlier deletion at any time.
9.6. Your data is not shared with other users by default. It becomes visible to others only if you choose to share your badge (e.g., by having your QR code scanned). Similarly, if you choose to join the official conference Discord server, your data (such as username or linked profile) may be shared with Discord Inc., subject to its own terms and privacy policy. Your participation in Discord is entirely optional and at your discretion.
9.7. You have the right to access, rectify, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at: conference@callstack.com.
9.8. If you believe your data is being processed unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Poland, this is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (https://uodo.gov.pl/).
10. Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, and Force Majeure
10.1. The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we make reasonable efforts to ensure its functionality during the event, we do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or compatible with all devices or configurations.
10.2. THE ORGANIZER IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY MALFUNCTION OR LIMITED AVAILABILITY OF THE APP CAUSED BY FACTORS BEYOND ITS REASONABLE CONTROL, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: YOUR FAILURE TO MEET THE TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS, USE OF AN UNSUPPORTED DEVICE OR BROWSER, LOSS OF INTERNET ACCESS, BATTERY DEPLETION, DAMAGE TO YOUR DEVICE, OR YOUR FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE TERMS.
10.3. THE ORGANIZER SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DELAYS OR FAILURES IN PERFORMANCE RESULTING FROM EVENTS BEYOND ITS REASONABLE CONTROL, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: NATURAL DISASTERS, EPIDEMICS OR PANDEMICS, WAR, CIVIL UNREST, GOVERNMENT ACTIONS, LABOR DISPUTES, FAILURES OF EXTERNAL SERVICE PROVIDERS (E.G., HOSTING, EMAIL DELIVERY, APP STORE DISTRIBUTION), POWER OUTAGES, OR OTHER FORCE MAJEURE EVENTS. THIS ALSO APPLIES WHERE SUCH EVENTS AFFECT THE ORGANIZER’S SUBCONTRACTORS OR TECHNICAL PROVIDERS.
10.4. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE ORGANIZER DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES—EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE—INCLUDING ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. LIKEWISE, THE ORGANIZER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, OPPORTUNITIES, BUSINESS, GOODWILL, OR ANTICIPATED SAVINGS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN ALL CASES, THE ORGANIZER’S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED USD 10 (OR THE EQUIVALENT IN LOCAL CURRENCY), UNLESS OTHERWISE REQUIRED BY MANDATORY LAW.
10.5. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES OR LIMITS THE ORGANIZER’S LIABILITY WHERE SUCH EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION WOULD BE UNLAWFUL, INCLUDING FOR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE, GROSS NEGLIGENCE, WILLFUL MISCONDUCT, OR LIABILITY THAT MAY NOT BE LAWFULLY EXCLUDED UNDER APPLICABLE CONSUMER PROTECTION LAWS.
11. Changes to These Terms
12.1. The Organizer may update these Terms, for example, to reflect new features or legal requirements.
12.2. You will be notified of any changes via in-app message or email.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
12.1. These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Poland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. If you are a consumer within the meaning of applicable consumer protection laws, this choice of law does not affect any mandatory protections granted to you by the laws of your habitual residence.
12.3. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms, including their validity, interpretation, or performance, shall be submitted to the competent court having jurisdiction over the Organizer’s registered seat, unless otherwise required by applicable law. If you are not a consumer and no mandatory jurisdiction rules apply, you and the Organizer agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting the other party at the contact address provided in these Terms.
12.4. If you are a consumer, you may also use available out-of-court methods for handling complaints and resolving disputes, including assistance from your local consumer ombudsman (e.g., the district consumer rights ombudsman), mediation, or proceedings before a permanent consumer arbitration court operating at the Provincial Inspectorate of Trade Inspection. More information is available at https://www.uokik.gov.pl or from your local consumer authority.
12.5. This clause does not prevent either party from seeking urgent injunctive or protective measures from competent national courts where necessary.
