A New Model for React Performance With Jay Meistrich

We've gained performance from Hermes and the New Architecture, but what is the biggest bottleneck remaining in React and React Native?
Jay Meistrich (Bravely), creator of the Legend suite of libraries, argues it's not lists, it's state. He explains that React's "render too much" top-down model is "not performant by default".
In this interview, Jay details the signaling system behind Legend State, which allows components to subscribe to granular state changes, bypassing the React reconciliation cascade. This results in tiny renders that only update what's necessary. He also shares his excitement for the absolutely incredible potential of React Native for desktop.
