Building Scalable Applications

Modern JavaScript development too often means decision paralysis. Christoph Nakazawa (CEO of Nakazawa Tech, creator of Jest, former React Native lead) shows how to cut through the noise and build apps end-to-end with speed, stability, and good defaults.

▪ What “scalability” really means: fast to build, fast to deploy, fast for users.

▪ The principle of global order, local chaos; keeping the system clean while teams move fast.

▪ Why building on open source defaults beats reinventing the wheel.

▪ A modern app template that includes type safety, testing, styling, and internationalization out of the box.

▪ How backend templates with GraphQL and Prisma enable type-safe data flows from database to client.

▪ Relay integration for declarative data fetching and composable fragments that maximize local reasoning.

From Expo apps to GraphQL servers to publishing packages, Christoph demonstrates how good defaults and open source tooling let you focus on your product instead of endless setup decisions.
